What you believe forms the thinking patterns of your life and sets the direction of your steps. The Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy to "watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers." (1 Tim 4:16). Knowing not just what you believe, but why you believe it is paramount to your life, your relationship with God, but more importantly, the lives of others.
Here at Kingdom Life Manchester, Pastor Aaron launched a series of challenging discussions regarding the foundations of our Faith, "What Do You Believe?"
Throughout Church History and even today, various practices and doctrines have been formed based solely upon human logic and human practice. We are encouraged, again, by the Apostle Paul in his second letter to Timothy to "be sober minded" due to people not "enduring sound teaching, but having itching ears... accumulating for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths." (2 Tim 4:3-5). May this series both challenge to examine your heart and encourage you to know what you believe and why you believe it.
